Class 2 – Capitalism and Emotion

Attached is Class 2 of the program to teach capitalism to Urban Youth.  As much as business is all about the numbers, it’s humans that make decisions, and Capitalists spend a lot of time trying to influence human decisions. There are two kinds of rewards in capitalism – economic, and non-economic.  The economic is the tangible benefit.  The non-economic are the emotions that go along with it.  Capitalists spend a lot of time thinking about how to influence people’s decisions, and how to influence their emotions.  How to get the other person to accept an emotional rewards instead of economic rewards.  Part of being a good capitalist is understanding how emotions impact decisions, and how to control one’s emotions.  2 Capitalism and Emotion
